Research Information
Copper-Binding Tripeptide Research Compound
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide composed of glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine complexed with copper. It has been identified in human plasma and studied in relation to extracellular matrix regulation, wound-model biology, gene-expression patterns, oxidative stress response, and age-associated tissue changes. Published research reports that GHK levels are approximately 200 ng/mL around age 20 and decline to approximately 80 ng/mL by age 60.
Overview
Research involving GHK-Cu has examined collagen-related signaling, fibroblast activity, copper transport, inflammatory response, tissue remodeling, and gene-expression modulation. Experimental studies have also investigated its interaction with cellular repair pathways and extracellular matrix maintenance.
